Features & Articles : On your Bike! May is National Bike Month

By Andy Clarke
page 2

One of the great things about National Bike Month is its flexibility. The International Bicycle Fund offers a variety of event ideas and more than 40 event names to choose from. In June 2000, cyclists in British Columbia enjoyed a month of activities ranging from bike rodeos and rides to mountain bike events and a ground-breaking ceremony for an important local project. In Western Australia, the ten-day-long bike week in March of this year featured bicycling barbecues, a commuter challenge between local councils, and a variety of fun rides. The Canberra Bike Festival in the Australian capital has a similar range of events.
